As we near the end of 2025 and look toward the nation’s Semiquincentennial in 2026, The Tun Legacy Foundation is grateful to every keystone and plank owner donor, 1775 Club member, 250th Marine Corps birthday celebration attendee, merchandise purchaser, Tun Militia volunteer, and social media follower who has joined in the mission to fully reestablish The Tun® as a living monument to its historical significance in the United States.
Your involvement has enabled us to reach significant milestones:
- In just two years we have raised $9.5 million in donations, pledges and grants thanks to the generosity and leadership of our board, advisory committee, and you – the Tun® supporters.
- Awareness of the rebuild is now nationwide. News of the Foundation’s 250th Marine Corps birthday celebration in Philadelphia, which took place November 7-11, 2025, generated media coverage that reached an audience of more than 58 million. Attendees participated from nearly every state, joining ceremonies, tours, birthday balls, and a birthday block party that was attended by more than 10,000.
How can you help?
- In the next 20 days the Foundation is focused on keystone donor and plank owner contributions to raise $1M by December 31, 2025, to keep us marching toward starting construction in 2026. Your tax-deductible donation as an individual or corporation will go directly to these efforts and enshrine your name on the donor plaque that will be displayed inside The Tun® once constructed. Please see the brief below for more information.
The Tun Legacy Foundation Overview
What happens once The Tun® is operating?
Once open, The Tun® will donate all profits from operations to veterans, Masonic and educational charities, and stand as a tribute to and a national home for our military, veterans, Freemasons, the community and visitors, providing:
- Educational programming
- Scholarships
- Job training opportunities
- Community programs and events
As you and your network consider your end-of-year giving, please know that every gift moves us closer to fulfilling our mission. Let’s begin construction in 2026 to preserve the historic Tun’s legacy.
