The Tun Legacy Foundation is excited to announce Raymond Shaban as the 1,775th member of the 1775 Club. Shaban enlisted in 1992 and is a product of Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. A Combat Engineer, he has been stationed with 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion; 2nd Light Anti Aircraft Missile Battalion; 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force Special Operations Training Group; and 1st Force Service Support Group (FSSG). While stationed at MCAS in Yuma, Arizona, he married his wife, Alma. Together, they raised six children.
What does it mean to carry the 1775 coin?
“It’s an honor and a privilege to be a member of the 1775 Club, and I’m beyond thrilled to be member number 1,775. Semper Fi,” Shaban said.
Did you know your 1775 Club membership carries a number unique to you?
Member numbers are assigned on the date and in the order members join. Those who opt to make a $17.75 monthly donation for one year will receive their coin after their 12th monthly donation. Members who choose to make a one-time payment of $213 receive their member benefits – the shirt, certificate and coin – in one package a few weeks after they join.
If you have received your coin already, head over to The Tun Legacy Foundation’s social media sites and let us know your coin number and what it means to you. If you haven’t yet received your coin and would like to know your number, send an email to samuel.nicholas@thetun.org.
Since its launch on April 29, 2025, The Tun® 1775 Club has raised more than $378,000 toward rebuilding the historic Tun. Members represent 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and five international addresses.
