Foundation Shares Tun News at Marine Corps League National Convention

The Tun Legacy Foundation Founder Pat Dailey and Board Member Ken Hopper shared updates on efforts to rebuild the historic Tun at the 2026 National Convention of the Marine Corps League, held August 6-15 in Indianapolis. Dailey spoke to attendees about the importance of preserving the history of The Tun for future generations and ways to get involved in the project.

“There was a lot of activity at our booth and significant enthusiasm for supporting the fundraising efforts through 1775 Club membership, brick paver orders, and the sale of Tun polo shirts,” Hopper said. “We raised in excess of $19,000 for the rebuild and grew our national audience of donors and supporters.”

Marine Corps League detachments have been very supportive of the brick paver fundraising program. Following a story in the Marine Corps League’s magazine, Semper Fi, as well as social media posts, individual outreach, and participation at the national convention, already 45 detachments have participated by purchasing a $500 brick paver to be laid at Tun Alley, Hopper said.
